Referrals can be sent by secure messaging, email, or fax. All referrals are triaged on the day they arrive.
SP suitability in brief
Single Port is one access option among multiport robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgery. Suitability depends on tumour stage and location, prostate size, prior abdominal or pelvic surgery, body habitus, and co-existing conditions. Not every patient who is a candidate for robotic surgery is a candidate for SP.1,2 Extensive nodal templates or some complex renal masses may favour multiport triangulation.24

What to include in your referral
- Reason for referral and key clinical question.
- Relevant history, medications, and allergies.
- Recent imaging reports (and images where possible).
- Pathology and tumour markers as applicable.
- Patient contact details and preferred consulting location.
Urgent referrals
Phone the rooms for obstructed infected systems, sepsis, or uncontrollable bleeding, and send the patient to the nearest emergency department as clinically appropriate.
